“I’ll let you have da pig, but
you’re in charge of it. I’m not taking care of it. While you’re in school,
you’ll have to find someone else who will feed the thing.” Etna shuffles
closer. She uses the of one finger and lifts my and tipping my face up towards
her. Making myself look into her eye is one of the hardest things I’ve ever had to do.
Thanks for stopping by :)
Yes, but at least she gets to keep the pig. Great six! :)
ReplyDeleteThat's quite a responsibility!
ReplyDeleteEtna seems like a scary woman! I'm glad Grace CAN look her in the eyes!
ReplyDelete"She uses the of one finger and lifts my and tipping my face up towards her." Is that right -- or do I need more coffee? :-)
ReplyDeleteSometimes a look is all it takes.
Nice six.
Scary lady! I hope there is a way she can take care of the piglet.
ReplyDeleteGlad she's letting her keep it, but man, she's scary! Also looks like there's a couple words missing in here: "She uses the of one finger and lifts my and tipping my face up towards her"
ReplyDeleteSounds like dealing with this woman is character building! Good six!
ReplyDeleteMissed a couple words?
ReplyDeleteI'm betting Grace will be willing to do anything she has to not just to keep the pig, but to make sure it thrives. We find out a lot about how Grace feels toward Etna by the way she (Grace) reacts. Nicely done.
I once taught a college class with a sick puppy tucked into my shirt to keep it warm. But teachers are not likely to let students do that.
ReplyDeleteI was an ag student, so getting out of classes to care for livestock was never a problem my ag teacher would have let me keep a piglet in the classroom. I'm not so sure the rest of my teachers would have been as accommodating.
DeleteI like the 'showing' of Grace's relationship with Etna. Also glad they are letting Grace look after the pig.
ReplyDeleteGrace seems braver than she thinks. Nice six!
ReplyDeleteThink there are some words missing in one sentence. Glad Grace is being given a pig to look after.
ReplyDeleteAnother great six. Looking forward to seeing the little pig grow.
ReplyDeleteI feel like Grace and Etna are going to come to respect one another at the end of this all - am I wrong? Also - I love how Etna spells it out for her. This isn't an easy thing to take on, so she's been warned.
ReplyDeleteLooking someone is the hardest thing most people have to do. I wonder if she'll take care of the pig by herself? Nice six!
ReplyDeleteI like the strength of both these characters, and how they play off each other. Well done six, Jess. :)
ReplyDeleteThese two are definitely strong willed characters. I can't wait to see how the story and their relationship develop. Nice job, Jess!
