Rendezvous with Destiny-Weekend Writing Warriors Snippet Febuary 15

Hey All!

Happy Mid-February. I hope everyone is surviving this latest round of miserable weather. When it comes to blizzards, my advice is to stay tucked under a heavy blanket with a big cup of hot chocolate (made with milk so it's extra rich and tasty) and a good book.

This week my snippet comes from my newly published novella, Rendezvous with Destiny. It also happens to be one of my favorite snippets.

Please excuse any typo, I'm writing this on my phone, which is an exercise in patience. Make sure you check out the entire list of talentedwriters taking in this week's blog hop. The list can be found at
Theo nudged her with his elbow, "you''re sitting here, fuming over the fact you acted without considering the consequences."
     "You're wrong."
      "I am?"
"I thought things through this time around. I even managed to restrain myself."
Theo stared at her, incredulous. "You did?"
"I thought about kicking him in the balls, but I didn't. I figured that would be over kill."

  1. I'm wondering what he did to deserve such animosity.

  2. LOL! I like this, Jess. Even in an excerpt this short, the characters' personalities come through. And yeah, what would somebody do that would prompt an urge like that?

  3. Great peek at her character. I like her already.

  4. lol - love her "restraint". Great snippet.

  5. That last line is classic! I love it. I'd love to know more about her and what she did (and what warranted her actions). Great 8!

  6. Short and sweet as this is, you've shown us your characters--big time. Love the humor.

    1. That's what I was shooting for. Thanks Charmaine!

  7. Excellent dialogue and as others have said, we definitely get a feel for your two characters and their personalities here. Well done! Enjoyed the excerpt.

  8. LOL! If she had to think about it, it probably wouldn't have been overkill. Great dialogue! (And stay warm, hon!)

  9. "I thought about kicking him in the balls, but I didn't. I figured that would be over kill." - love this line!
