Five Facts about Grace

Six sentence Sunday is lots of fun. I love sharing little snippets of my WIP, DWARFED, but since the snippets I’ve been posting don’t really tell much about the characters, I’ve decided spend the next few Saturdays posting five facts about the characters and locations.

To kick things off, I’m introducing my main character, Grace Sullivan.

  1. Prior to the start of the story, Grace traveled with the Renaissance Faire. She worked as the Faire’s court jester.
  2. When she’s stressed or emotional, Grace lapses into Shakespearean English. An example of this can be found here.
  3. Grace aspires to become a Las Vegas illusionist.
  4. Grace has a genetic condition called Achodroplastic dwarfism and at sixteen, stands 4’2”.
  5. If Grace had a superpower it would be the ability to remove the sensation of sadness from others, absorbing it into herself.

  1. Very cool idea, Jess. The six sentence snippets are fun--but illicit so many questions because six sentences just isn't enough to explain it all. :-)

Reading this made me realize how unique Grace is. :-) !

    1. I know! There's a lot of sections I thought about using, but they just don't make any sense w/o giving the back story, and SSS is busy enough that I don't want to force people to read more than they have to. This way, I figure the only thing I have to do is provide a link to this post, and it's up to them if they want to read more or take the snippet at face value.

I adore Grace. I'm so grateful she's unusual since my plots a bit more generic than I care to admit. Thanks!

By the way, I did read your response to my comment on your last SSS, thanks for clearing up my confusion about the years. It makes so much more sense now.
